After attending the opening ceremony, Me and two other friends
looked around (and shopped around hehehe) the expo participants’ booths. Most of participants offered organic food –
including organic based instant drink (mung bean, soya, black rice etc),
organic based biscuit, organic honey, organic and healthy catering for babies,
kids and adults, organic tea and yes of course organic rice, organic veggie
were presented. Aside from organic things, we found healthy nugget, healthy
sausage offered by some participants in this expo. The healthy concept for
nugget and sausage are claimed as they don’t use MSG, no preservatives, no fat,
no hormones, no antibiotic, no artificial colors and 100% meat. Interesting!
Next, we explored the non food
organic products. At least there are two categories here: skin care and fashion
products. For skin care, no doubt, I found Green Shop booth here and some more
local natural skin care products. I called it natural even though the sellers
claimed that their products are organic as they used natural ingredients such
as honey, coffee, turmeric, Sumbawa horse milk, and mixed it with chemical
ingredients such as parabens.. uhm… Next
category is fashion. I found only two participants offered fashion products:
bag and clothes. Lumintu is a home industry producing different products such
as bags, toys from used aluminum foil packages and employing senior
citizens. They really create such unique
products! The other one is Devou, producing and selling hand dyed clothes using
natural colors – www.mydevou.com
Overall, IMHO, Organic Green
Healthy Expo is a pioneer yet creative expo showing and educating Indonesian
customers the importance of consuming organic and healthy products and at the
same time maintaining, protecting our environment. Many products I wanted to
buy but unfortunately, there were no payment facilities for using both debit
card and credit card. Every transaction should be paid by cash. The worst
thing: there is no BCA atm in this new mall… I ended up buying some food
products only.. I will buy more products via internet, I guess…
