MooGoo: Oil Cleansing Method for dry skin

My first experience using oil based skincare was the one with The Body Shop Beautifying Oil. I was satisfied with the beautifying oil. Therefore when I saw MooGoo Oil Cleansing Method, I quickly ordered it. Even though at first I feel unsure about using oil to cleanse oil on my face, but then after I found useful information that oil basically dissolves oil – it means the oil we use to cleanse our face will effectively dissolve impurities in our skin (mostly in the form of oil too).
And now, here is my experience using oil cleansing method (aka OCM):
Benefit: Deep cleansing pores, powered by nature

Ingredients:

Detail:
I use Oil Cleansing Method once a day in the evening – in conjunction with MooGoo Milk Wash. First, I cleanse my face using MooGoo Milk Wash, dry it using towel, then I apply MooGoo Oil Cleansing Method. I massage my face using this oil for about 2 to 3 minutes. I’m so amazed to feel that this oil removes dirt, oil and deeply cleanse my pores – I can feel some residues, such as blackheads taken up when I massage my face. After massaging my face, I leave it on my face for another 2 to 3 minutes. Then I rinse it off using water and MooGoo Milky Wash. Right after rinsing my face, my skin feels so hydrates, soft and clean! It doesn’t leave any greasiness or any oily residue. The jojoba scent is so lovely and not overpowering.
It is suggested to use warm damp clothes over the face to deeply cleanse pores, but I haven’t tried it. And based on information on the MooGoo website, actually no cleanser required rinsing the oil – water is enough. Toner is also not needed! Last but not least, I kiss good bye facial scrub and pores pack!

Drawback:
A leaking pump – every time I shake the bottle before use, the oil spilled out of the bottle. Definitely I couldn’t bring this product for traveling. I notice in the website (http://moogoo.com.au/oil-cleanser-dry.html/) that MooGoo has changed the packaging. Hope the new one would not leak.

MooGoo: Milk Wash

In the past, I was always using baby soap as I believed baby soap is always safe and gentle for skin. I was wrong! Many of baby soap contain SLS, PEGs, artificial colors and fragrance. All of those ingredients can irritate skin, some are possibly carcinogen and definitely not as gentle as I thought. Then I started searching for the real natural and gentle soap. I have tried many different natural soap brands, but I haven’t found my HG.

Then I found MooGoo Milk Wash. Again, at first I only stared at this product – sitting nicely at the Watson’s shelf. Then my best friend, Yaya asked me to buy it for her. She said that this Milk Wash is so milky, that makes her feels like Cleopatra (milk bathing) and makes her skin supple. Then, I intrigued to try it too… So, here is my review of a milk wash in a milk bottle…

Benefit: Super gentle face and body wash, powered by Moo

Ingredients:

Aqua, Decyl Glucoside (Glucose Based Cleanser), Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Behentrimonium Methosulfate (Canola Based Detangler), Lauryl Glucoside (Glucose Based Cleanser), Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant Based Emulsifying Wax), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Coconut Derived Cleanser), Glyceryl Oleate (Skin Conditioner), Coco-Glucoside (Glucose Based Cleanser), Allantoin, Piroctone Olamine, Hydrolysed Milk Protein, Parfum (Phthlate Free).

Detail:
At first I used it only for body wash, as I was a bit skeptical with anything called “multi-purposes and multi functions” products. As a body wash, I find it very gentle and not foamy. It leaves my skin soft, smooth and supple.  What I love most is that it smells like butterscotch – It makes me want to try it hahaha… After shower, it doesn’t leave my skin greasy or oily or tight. It’s just awesome!

Then, I started to try it on my face… and yes, it does wonderfully on cleansing my face. I usually wash my face with MooGoo Milk Wash in the evening and followed by Oil Cleansing Method for dry skin – and finally cleanse my face again with Milk Wash. I love how this gentle cleanser cleanses my face and leaves my skin feels moisturized. I normally only use MooGoo Anti-ageing Cream and BB Cream, so I’m sure whether this Milk Wash is an effective make up remover or not. And I love the way it does not irritate eyes (no tears formulations), so it’s even better for face cleanser!!
At last, MooGoo Milk Wash is a multi function natural product (cleanse body and face) in a big bottle (500ml) with a very reasonable price, I couldn’t expect something more…

Drawback: Nope. Luv this MooGoo Milk Wash!!

MooGoo: Anti-Ageing Cream with Resveratrol

MooGoo is an Australian skincare company based in Queensland, where the owner, Craig Jones found out that the udder cream used for cows improving his mother’s skin condition from psoriasis. He reformulated the udder cream to make it easier to be absorbed into skin and that’s the beginning of a very successful MooGoo company – started from home kitchen to a half million dollar company in 2008.

This time I try the anti-ageing cream. I was sold by it’s kawai packaging, a miniature of milk box with attractive color and information. I bet everyone will enjoy reading the label! This anti-ageing cream consists of two powerful ingredients: resveratrol and Vitamin C.  After using it for more than 2 weeks, here is my experience:

Benefit: Youthful, healthy and supple skin, powered by Moo…

Ingredients:

Aqua, Olive Squalene, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Cetostearyl Alcohol, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Oryza Sativa [Rice] Bran Oil, Vitis Vinifera [Grape] Seed Oil, MethylSulfonylMethane (MSM Organic Sulfur), Capric Triglyceride (Fractionated Coconut Oil), Hydrolyzed Milk Protein (Casein), Allantoin (Comfrey Extract), Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Stabilized Vitamin C), Resveratrol, Piroctone Olamine, Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier), Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Vanilla Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract, Humulus Lupulus (Hop) Extract

Detail:
I use MooGoo Anti-ageing cream twice a day – in the morning and at night. In the morning, I combine it with The Body Shop Moisture White Sisho BB Cream SPF 25 and I use it alone at night. It’s non greasy and smells like vanilla milkshake! It’s a natural product, as usual, it’s not easy to sink well into my skin, but I don’t bother. This cream works for me. I notice that this cream helps to diminish my acne scars and makes my skin looks mate and healthier – it must be the effects of MSM, Vitamin C and Resveratrol!!!

In fact, I found that this anti-ageing cream was not hydrating enough when I used it alone. Then, I use MooGoo Super Vitamin C Eye Serum to compliment this cream. Yes, it’s an eye serum but I try to use it all over my face and it’s lovely J. Using combination of Super Vitamin C serum and Anti-Ageing cream, my skin looks lighter and soft. Love it!

Drawback:
When using it alone, it’s not hydrating enough for my dry skin. It might be perfect for oily and combination skin though… I’m also not sure whether people with dry skin like me can use it during winter time.

MooGoo: Skin Milk Udder Cream

MooGoo is an Australian natural skin care brand. Interestingly, I didn’t find this brand when I was in Australia last year – in fact I went to pharmacy and dept stores in skin care area everyday when I was in Melbourne. Pharmacy and skin care are at dept store are my playground hahaha… My colleague, Ibu Lili, introduced me to this brand when she brought some MooGoo lip balms to our office and my first reaction was “What? What’s the name again? MooGoo? What kind of brand is that?” And Moo? Hah, I don’t eat beef and I couldn’t stand milk!

Anyway, then I read about MooGoo coming to Indonesia via Kompas Female (link: http://female.kompas.com/read/2013/02/06/1156030/.Skincare.Berbahan.Alami.Aman.Saat.Tertelan) and I was interested to try MooGoo products since MooGoo is well known as natural skin care product (with less ingredients than others) and suitable for sensitive and troubled skin. I found MooGoo at Watson, Kota Kasablanka when I looked for body lotion. Actually I did not sure about this cream – the label doesn’t explain clearly how to use and the benefits, but I guessed this cream could be used as body lotion – I hoped it’s not too greasy.
And….after using two tubes of this Skin Milk, here is my review…

Benefit: Light cream for skin elasticity, powered by Moo

Ingredients:

Aqua, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Piroctone Olamine, Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier), Allantoin, Coco-Caprylate (Coconut Based Conditioner), Hydrolyzed Casein (Milk Protein), Parfum (Phthalate free), Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract.

Detail:
I’m using this skin milk twice a day after shower. As a body lotion, the texture of this cream is light.. My doubt over greasiness is not proved! It doesn’t make my skin oily or greasy. It sinks easily into my skin. How about the smell? Oh, it’s like applying vanilla milkshake all over my body – even though the smell doesn’t last long. I love it!

This cream makes my skin soft and smooth and no shininess left behind– it’s my daily regime now! I have tried using this cream on my hand but it’s not creamy/thick enough for my hand. I tried using it on my face several times, and it was OK but I don’t think I will use it on my face since it was not moisturizing enough. I also will not use this product as my body lotion if I travel during winter time.

Drawback: Just one – difficult to source (limited pharmacies have it), but we can always buy online.
