Living Social 3rd Anniversary on 12 September 2013 @ Plaza Semanggi


I received invitation to attend the 3rd Anniversary of Living Social Indonesia via my Yahoo email.  I know Living Social since my hubby bought me vouchers from this deal website twice. Hence, I have had two experiences buying “service” from Living Social – D’Ortho Foot Analysis at Bellagio Boutique Mall , Jakarta and Hot Stone Therapy at Pita Maha Resort, Bali. Well, even though I actually did not have any clue about the event, I decided to attend this event to get to know Living Social bette.

Upon arrival and registration at the venue, I had a chance to had chit chat with Ibu Nia from Cohn & Wolfe PR a- PR agent of Living Social Indonesia and Ms Lia Johnson  - the Regional Talent Manager of Living Social, Asia. Living Social is a daily deal website, based in Washington. It was founded in 2007. Living Social entered Indonesia and South East Asia market in 2011 when it acquired Ensogo (the parent company of Deal Keren, and other deal websites in Thailand and Philippines). Currently there are about 1.5 million members of Living Social Indonesia.

The venue of this event is at the Redemption Counter of Living Social at 1st Floor, Plaza Semanggi, Unit #58 – in front of Solaria and behind The Redemption Counter of Living Social at Plaza Semanggi is a brand new store – it’s a pick up point as well as a kind of flagship store where member or customer can consult with Living Social staff, and make a purchase (computer is provided). 

The main menu of this event is a press conference with Mr. Johanes Chang, the director escapes of Living Social Indonesia.  The points highlighted from this press conference are:

  • 44% of Living Social customer is below 24 years old, 30% is between 25 to 35 years old.
  • 56% of Living Social customer is women
  • 95% of customer is from Jakarta
  • Living Social promotes its deals via social media and uses different sales promotion tools (raffle, sweepstake, etc) to attract member.
  • Currently there are more than 500 merchants of Living Social Indonesia – to be a Living Social merchant; there is a set of procedure (including survey and consultation) that should be fulfilled
  • There are different deals everyday – to offer this uniqueness, Living Social has a team of sales to get merchants to collaborate with.
  • The benefit of members: get deals!
  • The benefit of merchants: access to Living Social members, promote products or services
  • Do you know that Living Social customers are impulse buyers? – They buy without a plan, it’s just because of the deal that makes them buy!
  • In the future, Living Social Indonesia aims to improve its customer service, engage with merchant and customer better, and for sure, a wider sales outreach.

  2. Browse freely deals offered by Living Social  in product and service categories
  3. Select product/service to buy - don't forfet to read term and condition for this purchase
  4. Click "buy" to make a teansaction
  5. Choose shooping method: Delivery or Pick Up
  6. For delivery, submit detail of shopping adress
  7. Confirm your payment and Agree on terms and conditions
  8. Select payment options: KlikBca, Paypal, Bank transfer, or credit card
  9. Waiting to get the product or for service deals. printing the voucher
