Burt’s Bee: Intense Hydration Day Lotion

Burt’s Bee is always on my must have – must try list. I have heard this brand long time back – this brand has a very well-known reputation as earth friendly, natural personal care products. The company was started in 1984 in Maine, by Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz. Burt Shavitz had a honey business which had beeswax as its by product. Quimby focused on creating candles using that honey by product. Personal care wasn’t produced until 1989 when Quimby found a 19^th century book on homemade personal care product recipes. Since then, Burt’s Bee natural personal care products are not stoppable – with hundreds of products and thousand of stores around the world. In 2007, Burt’s Bee was acquired by the Clorox Company and it keeps its earth friendly promise!

Sadly, there is no Burt’s Bee outlet in Indonesia. And I was so happy to find Burt’s Bee products in Priceline pharmacy in Australia and in Siam Paragon mall in Thailand. After carefully read the label and explored the Burt’s Bee website, I decided to try the intense hydration series and Radiance Serum with royal jelly. Then, after more than 2 weeks using a series of Burt’s Bee Intense Hydration, here what I feel…

Benefit: Rich day moisturizer for dry skin, powered by nature

I use this day lotion – ah, I would prefer to call it day cream – in conjunction with Burt’s Bee radiance serum (day and night), Belif BB cream and intense hydration night cream. The texture is kind of thick and it takes time for me to evenly apply this cream all over my face and neck and it also takes a little time for this cream to soak into my skin. Amazingly, after applying this cream, my face doesn’t look oily, doesn’t feel sticky! In fact, this milky white cream hydrates my skin perfectly. My skin looks so supple and smooth. This day cream also helps to minimize the appearance of my acne scars.  I also love the simple design of its bottle with dispenser. This product is highly recommended for those with dry skin and or those who are traveling during winter time. Sometimes at night I use this product as my hand cream and it works wonderfully – makes my hand looks and feels so soft.

Drawback:

At the first time I used this product, I had to say..I didn’t like the smell – it’s so intense. After a while, I get used to the smell…

If this product is easy to find in Indonesia or at StrawberryNet (link to id strawberry net website), I would be more than happy to repurchase!

PS: I bought some Burt’s Bee products in Thailand and then I realized that the price of Burt’s Bee products are so expensive (compared to the US and Australia prices)!

Alila Living: Indian Fig Finishing Cream

Last October I visited Bali and eventually managed to buy Alila Living products in Alila resort at Ubud. (link  Alila Ubud website).  One of the products I bought is Indian Fig Finishing Cream – it’s a day and night cream. I thought this product is made by using Indian fig as the main ingredient (note: Indian fig is a species of cactus with edible fruit. The medical and cosmetics uses of Indian fig are very well-known).  When I read the ingredients carefully, I don’t really understand whether this product is using Indian fig or not.  Anyway, I have been using this product for more than 2 weeks and it’s time for me to share my experience:

Detail:

I use this nut-brownie cream day and night after applying Pure C serum from Alila Living. When I open the jar, I immediately smell the herbal scent. The herbal scent is kinda powerful and it lingers quite long. If you like herbal scent, this would not be a problem. This light cream provides heavy and rich coverage – uhm…how to explain..this cream is light, I can feel it on my fingers, but when I apply it on my face, this cream is a bit difficult to spread evenly, but it sinks quickly into my skin. What I love most from this cream is that it works wonderfully on my skin. I wake up with fresh and glow skin. My skin is nourished and soft. This cream, packed in an elegant black container and box, helps to reduce the appearance of my acne scars. Love it!!

Drawback:

• Yes I have to say, even to my dry skin, this cream makes my face looks  a bit oily. I use BB cream and loose powder to cover-up oily effect of this cream and they work!!

• I just do expect that in the future there will be an indicator of shelf life on the packaging.

Derma e: Hyaluronic Acid Day Crème

Hyaluronic Acid? Apaan tuh?  Jangan salah, nama ingredient yang susah dilafalkan ini adalah primadona industry skin care lho.. Hyaluronic Acid ini malah disebut-sebut sebagai “the key to the fountain of youth”! 

Hyaluronic acid, yang dikenal juga dengan nama glycosaminoglycan, adalah senyawa alami yang bisa ditemukan dalam jaringan sel tubuh manusia maupun hewan. Fungsi utama hyaluronic acid dalam tubuh manusia adalah sebagai bantalan dan pelumas dalam tubuh kita. Bertambahnya umur dan faktir-faktor laen membuat kandungan hyaluronic acid dalam tubuh kita berkurang. Hyaluronic acid ini punya kemampuan bukan sekedar mampu mengalirkan air, tapi juga mengikat air dalam tubuh kita. Itu sebabnya hyaluronic acid bisa melembabkan jaringan sel tubuh kita dan menjaga elastisitas kulit. Hyaluronic acid dikenal efektivitasnya mengatasi kerutan dan kulit kering. Melanjutkan review Derma e Hyaluronic Acid Night Crème,  kali ini saya  mau share pengalaman memakai Derma e Hyaluronic Acid Day Crème setelah pemakaian rutin lebih dari 2 minggu.

Detail:

Saya pake day crème ini bersamaan dengan serumnya. Crème berwarna putih susu dengan tektur ringan ini gampang meresap ke dalam kulit tanpa ada kesan greasy dan oily. Kesan lembabnya terasa dan kulit wajah berasa lembut dan halus. Karena ga ada kandungan SPF nya, saya menggunakan Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 moisturizer setelah mengaplikasikan day crème ini. Aroma crème ini – mirip dengan krim malamnya, it’s fruity, aroma pisang! Yang saya paling suka dari day crème ini adalah karena ingredients nya minimal, natural, plus berkhasiat nyata – obat kali ye…  dan harganya reasonable!!

 

Drawback:

·        Sayang  krim pagi ini engga mengandung SPF.  Semoga nantinya mereka bikin day crème yang pake SPF
