Organi: Organic Firming Serum

Serum is one of my must have and must wear of daily skin care products. According to dermatologists, only a serum can penetrate the many layers of the skin. Other skin care products such as day cream and night cream usually have larger molecules than a serum, therefore might only work on the surface of the skin, whereas a serum with its tiny molecules can add moisture and other ingredients much deeper into the skin (refer to:  Asha Chowdary in her article for The Times of India, 8 November 2012). Considering my age, the best for me is anti-aging serum. I usually buy skin care in a set of moisturizer and serum under the same brand.

In conjunction with Organi Day Cream (link), and Organi Night Cream, I used Organi Firming Serum. Organi has two types of serum: Organi Firming Serum and Organi Deep Wrinkle Remover. The beauty advisor at first didn’t suggest me to use serum considering my age. But I had different opinion of the importance of using serum. After 2 weeks using them all, lemme share my experience:

This serum comes in a beautiful green pumped bottle. I used this serum together with the day and night cream from the same brand. The texture of this serum is light – it’s kind of a light lotion. It’s not greasy, not sticky, not oily and easy to apply. I did expect a lot from this serum – it’s so pricey. I have to regret of having such high expectations. Just like the day cream, it helped hydrating my skin – it gave one layer of moisturizer to my skin. But, this serum didn’t perform something wonderful. It doesn't really do anything for my skin at all. The "anti-aging" qualities are mediocre and don't last. It certainly does nothing against dryness, redness, dark spots or my acne scar.

Drawback:
The normal price of this serum is AUD 240 – insane!
The pump container is very effective to keep the freshness and hygiene of the serum, but it was so difficult to reach the product at the bottom of the container.

Again, I learnt beautiful container isn’t a guarantee of the quality inside.

Is serum part of your beauty regime?

 For me, yes, serum is part of my daily beauty regime. I have used serum since I was in undergraduate program loh… My mom told me to start early using serum and my first serum was Artistry Alpha Hydroxy Serum Plus – Amway. After that, I have tried many different serums on my skin, from department store brands to drugstore brands

Why serum is important? According to Renée Rouleau, a serum is a skin care product contains concentrated active ingredients. A serum, which first introduced to the market in 1990s, is used after cleansing the skin and before applying moisturizer and it’s wonderfully hydrates skin by penetrating deeper within the skin.  Meanwhile, I cited directly from Plazan Cosmetics website, it is said that serums, or concentrates, contain approximately ten times more of biologically active substances than creams, therefore quicker and more effectively coping with cosmetic problems. No wonder we only need small amount of serum – which usually comes in smaller size yet more expensive than moisturizer.

My next review on Derma e Hyaluronic Acid range is the rehydrating serum. I have used this product in conjunction with the day and night crème for more than 2 weeks, so here is my review:

Intensive hydrating and moisturizing serum, powered by hyaluronic acid.

Detail:

While serum usually comes in gel or oil or water, this serum comes in lotion. Yes this light milky white lotion is easily goes into my skin. It’s non oily and non greasy serum. This serum really pumps my skin condition. My skin is smoother and softer. It reduces the appearance of acne scar and lines. Again, the smell is like banana but I don’t mind with it. In the Derma e website stated that those with oily skin can use this serum alone.

Drawback:

I have no complaint at all about its performance. It hydrates my skin tremendously. But I do have complaint on its packaging – the plastic bottle makes this product looks chippo (read: cheap).

IMO, this product is really a value for money one – reasonable price with maximum benefits. Are you interested to try?

Yupe, buat saya serum itu penting. Saya pake serum sejak masih kuliah S1 lho. Mama saya mengajarkan saya buat pake serum di usia awal 20an untuk mencegah penuaan dini. Kalo diinget-inget lagi, serum yang pertama kali saya pake adalah Artistry Alpha Hydroxy Serum Plus – Amway. Setelah itu, saya pake beragam merek serum, mulai dari merek mahal sampe merek supermarket.

Kenapa sih kog serum disebut sebagai bagian penting perawatan kulit sehari-hari? Menurut Renée Rouleau, serum itu produk perawatan kulit yang mengandung bahan aktif konsentrat. Serum ini pertama diperkenalkan ke pasar secara luas pada tahun 1990an. Serum dipake setelah wajah dibersihkan dan sebelum mengaplikasikan pelembab alias moisturizer dan serum punya kemampuan penetrasi ke bagian dalam kulit. Menurut Plazan Cosmetics website, dibilang kalo serum itu pada umumnya mengandung 10 kali bahan aktif daripada krim atau moisturizer, itu sebabnya serum biasanya lebih efektif mengatasi masalah kulit seperti hydrating skin atau mengurangi wrinkle. Itu juga sebabnya kenapa kita cuma butuh serum dalam jumlah sedikit  dan itu juga yang bikin serum biasanya dijual dalam botol ukuran lebih kecil ketimbang moisturizer dan lebih mahal!

My next review dari rangkaian Derma e Hyaluronic Acid adalah produk serumnya. Saya memakai serum ini barengan dengan day and night crème yang saya udah ulas sebelumnya. Setelah pemakaian rutin selama 2 minggu, ini, so here is my review

Detail:

Kalo serum laen biasanya bentuknya gel atau oil atau water, serum kali ini bentuknya lotion. Serum berwarna putih susu dengan tektur yang light ini gampang meresap dalam kulit, tidak meninggalkan kesan greasy dan oily. Serum ini works wonderfully on my skin, karena kulit wajah saya jadi terlihat lebih halus dan lembut. Serum ini juga membantu mengurangi penampakan bekas jerawat dan garis halus di wajah. Sama seperti prdouk lain under hyaluronic acid dari Derma e, serum ini baunya juga mirip mirip pisang gitu.. Menurut website Derma e, bagi yang kulitnya oily,  produk ini bisa dipake langsung sebagai moisturizer.

Drawback:

So far, saya ga ada complain untuk kinerja serum ini. It hydrates my skin tremendously.

Cuma satu yang agak menganggu sih, hyaluronic acid rehydrating serum ini  dikemas di dalam botol plastic yang membuat produk wonderful ini terlihat chippo alias murahan .

At last, IMO, produk ini adalah value for money yang memberikan maximum benefits dengan harga terjangkau. Are you interested to try?
